Someone Stole The Spirit - Episode 9

"Take This Thing Back To Baltimore!"

Why is that the first thing that comes to my mind when I look at the flickering lights from the elevator.

"What?" the llama asks softly.

I have gone down on one knee and we talk secretly and directly mouth to ear.

"It is nothing", I say, "it was just a line from that scary movie that I had to think of while looking at those crazy lights. What do you think this is?"

"I don't know", the animal answers, "kind of a rescue mission?"

"And we want to rescue what? The spirit of Christmas?"

Although Anthony is standing with his back to us fiddling with his oil lantern he is nodding in agreement as if he can hear every word we speak.

"As I understand the spirit of Christmas, it is all about a Christmas Child we are looking for on this time of year."

Does the llama try to sound smart in this situation? And is that a head-shake from Anthony's side?

"Jesus?" I ask.

"Are you using the name of the Lord as a curse now, dude?"

"No, I only want to know, are we trying to rescue Jesus?"

The llama thinks about it for less than a second and then says, "Never ever. I saw that documentary on the Science Channel the other day. Jesus is the son of the Lord. But on Klingon Prime the Christmas Child is a hot blonde chick with long, curly hair in a fancy white dress."

"Llama! You are getting all blasphemous again."

"No, I am not", the llama says. "Tell him Anthony!"

The Anthony figure is taking a deep sight.

"What is it? Are you coming or what? You will have to find out for yourselves or I will tell you all about it. But now, follow me. We are losing time here."

And he is heading towards the once again opening elevator door.
