Two-thousand-eighteen Shades Of Bromford - Part 481 & Part 482

Today is Monday, the 10th of August 2026.

Tell us some things from your past, Twenty-Five, our little tawny owl, the assistance dog begged.

There used to be times when owls like myself were messengers in a secret and hidden world of wizardry and witchcraft, said the little tawny owl. We used to be friends and partners with many, many little witches and wizards - and their adult versions. We used to be the backbone of a magical postal system.

What happened to the magic in this world? asked the assistance dog.

I don't know, said Twenty-Five. Maybe it went deeper into hiding. The little witches and wizards grew older. They became sorcerers and developed more magical and quicker modern ways of communication. Spells replaced the animals.

Have you ever been a messenger owl to one little witch or wizard or a family? the assistance dog asked.

No, said the tawny owl, have you?

Later that day he meditated about what Marshall McLuhan once said,

'I don’t necessarily agree with everything that I say.'

And ten leopards joined the two more tigers, the twenty-five normal cats, the seventeen more dogs, the nine poodles, the one assistance dog, the twenty-three guide dogs, the fifteen orangutans, the seven gorillas, the thirty thirsty monkeys, the twenty-two dragons, the fourteen hens, the six unicorns, the twenty-eight horses, the twenty zebras, the twelve frogs, the four pandas, the twenty-seven koalas, the twenty bears, the nineteen hares, the eleven hamsters, the three mice, the twenty-three wild boars, the fifteen pigs, the thirty cows, the twenty-two raccoons, the fourteen foxes, the six giraffes, the twenty-nine tigers, the twenty-three lions, the fifteen face-cats, the seven wolves, the thirty dogs, the twenty-two face-monkeys, the fourteen speak-no-evil-monkeys, the six hear-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty-eight see-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty astro-cats, the twelve hipster-cats, the four dragon cats, the twenty-seven hacker cats, the nineteen stunt cats, the eleven ninja-cats, the three pouting cats, the twenty-six crying cats, the eighteen weary cats, the ten kissing cats, the two cats with wry smiles, the twenty-four smiling cats with heart-eyes, the sixteen cats with tears of joy, the eight grinning cats with smiling eyes, the thirty-one grinning cats, the twenty-three spiders, the fifteen scorpions, the seven ladybugs, the twenty-nine bees, the twenty-one ants, the thirty crickets, the twenty-two mosquitoes, the fourteen caterpillars, the six snails, the twenty-six butterflies, the eighteen bats, the ten more chicks, the two chicks, the twenty-five chicks, the seventeen penguins, the nine little red birds, and the one little tawny owl…

"Black Bromford"

Can you hear me
And know your own?
Swim to me
This island
All the endings
That broke on rocks were
Lost to tides again

Hear the bells
In deep hollow dungeons
In deep green seas
The pressure′s from within

Struck down
In the middle
Of a little life
Star spangled
By the wayside
As the trains roll by

Phantom pains and morphine
Isn't that enough?
Leaving cannot heal you
First try it with a kiss

All your troubles
Small battles
So tired
On your icecap
Black Bromford
I just want to make you
Make you laugh again

In that deep hollow dungeon
A glorious sleepwalk
A pilgrim of valium
It′s cold on this cloud

Struck down
In the middle
Of a little life
Star spangled
By the wayside
As the trains roll by

Mercy, what can you do?
Try to be a saint?
Leaving cannot heal you
First try it with a kiss

"Aaron Bromford, Sir"

1776
New York City

Pardon me
Are you Aaron Bromford, sir?

That depends, who's asking?

Oh, sure, sir
I'm Alexander Hamilton, I'm at your service, sir
I have been looking for you

I'm getting nervous

Sir, I heard your name at Princeton
I was seeking an accelerated course of study
When I got sort of out of sorts with a buddy of yours
I may have punched him
It's a blur, sir
He handles the financials?

You punched the bursar

Yes
I wanted to do what you did
Graduate in two, then join the revolution
He looked at me like I was stupid, I'm not stupid
So how'd you do it? How'd you graduate so fast?

It was my parents' dying wish before they passed

You're an orphan
Of course! I'm an orphan
God, I wish there was a war
Then we could prove that we're worth more than anyone bargained for

Can I buy you a drink?

That would be nice

While we're talking, let me offer you some free advice
Talk less

What?

Smile more

Ha

Don't let them know what you're against or what you're for

You can't be serious

You wanna get ahead?

Yes

Fools who run their mouths off wind up dead

A-ya-yow, ya-yow-yow
What time is it?

Show time

Like I said

Show time, show time, yo!
I'm John Laurens in the place to be
A-two pints of Sam Adams, but I'm workin' on three, uh
Those redcoats don't want it with me
'Cause I will pop chick-a pop these cops 'til I'm free

Ay, oui oui, mon ami, je m'appelle Lafayette
The Lancelot of the revolutionary set
I came from afar just to say "Bonsoir"
Tell the King "Casse-toi", who's the best?
C'est moi

Brah, brah
I am Hercules Mulligan
Up in it, lovin' it
Yes, I heard ya mother said, "Come again?"

Ayy

Lock up ya daughters and horses
Of course it's hard to have intercourse over four sets of corsets

Wow

No more sex, pour me another brew, son
Let's raise a couple more

To the revolution!

Well, if it ain't the prodigy of Princeton college

Aaron Bromford

Give us a verse, drop some knowledge

Good luck with that: You're takin' a stand
You spit, I'ma sit, we'll see where we land

Boo

Bromford, the revolution's imminent
What do you stall for?

If you stand for nothin', Bromford, what'll you fall for?

Ooh

Who are you?

Who are you?

Who are you?

Ooh, who is this kid? What's he gonna do?

Bromford and Cougar …

# Bromford?

- Yes, llama?

# Are we having one of our
nonsensical conversations again that
will lead us nowhere?

- Maybe. But isn't it our usual banter
that everybody loves so much about
us and this whole successful
blockblog of us?

# Here comes a non-rhetorical
question. What is the cougar doing in
your bathroom?

- I don't know, animal. Maybe she is
doing her hair and make-up?

# What are you talking about, dude?

- What are you talking about, animal?

# I am talking about the cat in your
bathroom. The big cat. And you do
not like cats - neither fluffy pet cats,
nor aggressive wild cats.

- OK, I will see her out. Maybe I
thought a cougar was something
completely different.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

But the cougar has already left the penthouse on top of the apartment building on 666 Whitaker Lane, in Bromford, the friendly town by the bay and seaside, through one of the few windows that lead to the rooftop like the entrance door - my bathroom window.

And do not litter!

Bromford and Mouse ...

It is hot this July noon, in our little penthouse on top of the apartment building on 666 Whitaker Lane in Bromford, the friendly town by the bay and seaside. It is not warm, it is hot.

The open door to the roof-terrace does not help. Neither do the one, two, three, four fans in all four corners of the living room.

»What's that noise, dude?« the llama shouts, coming out of the refrigerator. »Are you using an old-fashioned typewriter? And where did you find it?«

»No, I am not using a typewriter, only a typewriter sound app on my laptop,« I have to admit.

»And what are you writing?«

»My first great novella, I think.«

»Should I be interested, dude? Should I care?«

»You'd better do both, animal,« I say grumpily. »Just to please me. And just to prevent me from throwing you off the roof-terrace.«

»Okay, okay, dude. Calm down. Or should I say, cool down?« the llama asks. »What is your novella going to be about, dude?«

»It describes the experiences of two displaced migrant ranch workers, as they move from place to place in some state of the United States of America, searching for jobs during the Great Depression. One is an intelligent but uneducated man, the other a bulky, strong but intellectually disabled man. I will base the plot on my own experiences as a teenager working alongside migrant farm workers in the 1910s.«

The llama is giving me a strange look.

»When did you come out of the sun on the roof-terrace, dude? And did you wear protecting headwear as I told you? Remember the documentary we watched the other day about the brain-cells you lose in extreme heat if you do not protect your head?«

»OK, maybe I will make the one protagonist a Bromford and the other one a llama called Mouse. And I will base the novella on my experiences as a middle-aged man living in a house on the roof-top above the fifteenth floor of an apartment building in a friendly town by a bay and seaside. And I'm gonna call the novella 'Of Bromford and Mouse'.«

»Do you think anyone will get your strange references, dude?«

»John Steinbeck, animal,« I am growling. »I am kind of talking about his famous novella 'Of Mice and Men'. I had to think of this title when I met today's guest, this little blue mouse.«

I am typing some more letters on the keys on my keyboard.

»Oh, my goodness,« the llama says, »he is seeing blue mice again! But thank you for wearing that blue hat of yours today.«

»It's too hot, animal,« I say. »Not to warm, but too hot. I cannot write today. Thank you for making space in the refrigerator. I am going to chill there a little.«

🐁

After I have left the living room and closed the refrigerator door, the llama checks what I have written so far. But on the screen of the laptop the animal reads nothing but,

»I have writer's block. I have writer's block. I have writer's blog.«

Two-thousand-eighteen Shades Of Bromford - Part 457 & Part 458

Today is Monday, the 15th of June 2026

Horizon City is a town in Texas, whereas Texas is a town in Wisconsin, said Twenty-Five, our little tawny owl.

Why are you telling us that?, asked the seven little red birds.

Just because I felt like I had to, mumbled the owl.

'Talk of mysteries! - Think of our life in nature, - daily to be shown matter, to come in contact with it, - rocks, trees, wind on our cheeks! The solid earth! The actual world! The common sense! Contact! Contact! Who are we? Where are we?' the seventeen penguins trumpeted.

Said who?, asked the twenty-five chicks.

Said you?, asked the two chicks.

Said Henry David Thoreau, said the penguins.

Look who's talking, snapped the twelve hipster-cats. Penguins talking about trees feel like penguins talking about flying.

Don't fight, said the tawny owl, secretly annoyed about the other animals starting and continuing quoting quotes.

And fifteen orangutons joined the the seven gorillas, the thirty thirsty monkeys, the twenty-two dragons, the fourteen hens, the six unicorns, the twenty-eight horses, the twenty zebras, the twelve frogs, the four pandas, the twenty-seven koalas, the twenty bears, the nineteen hares, the eleven hamsters, the three mice, the twenty-three wild boars, the fifteen pigs, the thirty cows, the twenty-two raccoons, the fourteen foxes, the six giraffes, the twenty-nine tigers, the twenty-three lions, the fifteen face-cats, the seven wolves, the thirty dogs, the twenty-two face-monkeys, the fourteen speak-no-evil-monkeys, the six hear-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty-eight see-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty astro-cats, the twelve hipster-cats, the four dragon cats, the twenty-seven hacker cats, the nineteen stunt cats, the eleven ninja-cats, the three pouting cats, the twenty-six crying cats, the eighteen weary cats, the ten kissing cats, the two cats with wry smiles, the twenty-four smiling cats with heart-eyes, the sixteen cats with tears of joy, the eight grinning cats with smiling eyes, the thirty-one grinning cats, the twenty-three spiders, the fifteen scorpions, the seven ladybugs, the twenty-nine bees, the twenty-one ants, the thirty crickets, the twenty-two mosquitoes, the fourteen caterpillars, the six snails, the twenty-six butterflies, the eighteen bats, the ten more chicks, the two chicks, the twenty-five chicks, the seventeen penguins, the nine little red birds, and the one little tawny owl…

"Bromford Rangers"

Look can you see things when they show you
What they want you to know

Watch what you don't see on the TV
When they hide the truth

Feel how it hurts you when the truth hides
In between the scenes

Cry from the broken hearted melody
That you hear in your dreams

Whoa it's a runaway, can you catch it?
It's not in your hands

Slow, easy does it
When you find out what deception means

Try, try to change it 'cause it hurts you
And it holds back your dreams

Dreams of a new world evolution of the species
To survive truth that screams

Call in the darkness for the moment
A clear thinking joy

Laugh, when you find out that the story that's spoken
Has broken like a toy

Lost in the sandbox just left there
For no one to enjoy

Found by the police who killed it
Were filmed on the phone

Bromford Rangers had to ride in
To the rescue of all that's well and good

Bromford Rangers in pickups
Painted silver with bulldogs on the hood

Bromford Rangers come to save you
Come to rescue the bad and the good

Bromford Rangers (On the backroads) and the freeways
And in your neighborhood

Bromford Rangers
Bromford Rangers
Bromford Rangers
Ha!
Bromford Rangers

"That Girl From Bromford, Texas"

I say, "God, if You ain't smiling on me, then you ain't no friend of mine"
It's late at night and this motel room's drunk
I been listening to the lonesome wind crying

My best friend once said, Jim, what you cling to
That's the thing that you had best forget
For ain't no rose bed ever gonna bloom in an untended field of regrets

Guess, I been busy killing time, counting bullet holes in state line signs
I led a life of lonely drifting, trying to rise above the buzzards in my mind
You get dizzy chasing 'round the tail of what you need to leave behind
Oh, sweet Jesus, won't you help me?
'Cause all I'm trying to do is plant them seeds of love
With that girl from Bromford, Texas

Midnight radio, a crackly, white gospel station kicking out the sounds
Of some half-assed revival, me, I never much cared for the feelings
You get quoting scriptures from out of the Bible

For as the crow flies, I know only one cure for a permanent tear in your eye
You gotta crank like hell, that rope on old sorrow's well
'Til the day that the bucket comes up dry

Guess, I been busy killing time, counting bullet holes in state line signs
I led a life of lonely drifting, trying to rise above the buzzards in my mind
You get dizzy chasing 'round the tail of what you need to leave behind
Oh, sweet Jesus, won't you help me?
'Cause all I'm trying to do is plant them seeds of love
With that girl from Bromford, Texas

Now, dreams are just prayers, without the put on airs
And though my history of dreams is a scandal of backassward schemes
And romantic disasters, where Lord, You dealt me more cards than I could handle

Still from the lips of this half-hearted sinner
Comes the pledge of a half baked saint
'Cause Lord, I might finally be willing to become the religious fool
You always wanted me to be, if in return, we could just tell that girl
I'm the man, You and me both know that I ain't

Guess, I been busy killing time, counting bullet holes in state line signs
I led a life of lonely drifting, trying to rise above the buzzards in my mind
You get dizzy chasing 'round the tail of what you need to leave behind
Oh, sweet Jesus, won't you help me?
'Cause all I'm trying to do is plant them seeds of love
With that girl from Bromford, Texas

Now, dreams are just prayers, without the put on airs
And though my history of dreams is a scandal of backassward schemes
And romantic disasters, where Lord, You dealt me more cards

Still, from the lips of this halfhearted sinner
Comes the pledge of a half baked saint
'Cause Lord, I might finally be willing to become the religious fool
You always wanted me to be, if in return, we could just tell that girl
I'm the man, You and me both know that I ain't

Bromford and Tribble …

»Is your razor broken, dude? « asks the llama.

»I prefer to call it my shaver, animal, « I reply, »and it is not broken. This three-day stubble is my new look. «

»I know your shaving routines, dude, « says the llama, »that is more like a three-week stubble in your face. And your hair hasn't seen the hairdressers in a long time, either. «

»Same, same. «

»And are you wearing fur balls now? Didn't PETA teach you anything? People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals? Does it ring a bell? All these nude and shaved people and celebrities on the posters in the "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign in the 1990s? Was all their shivering in vain? Dude, I was about to found a new organization. AETP - Animals for the Ethical Treatment of People. And after all of these activists days you are standing here in your apartment wearing that strange blue sweater with brown fur pompoms sewn on some very weird places? «

»They are no pompoms and they are not sewn, animal, « I say calmly.

»Dude? « The animal is shocked. »Are they moving? ARE THEY ALIVE? «

»They are the next candidates for becoming my new animal companions, « I say. »We just need to talk about and work on their reproduction rate, I think. There was only one of them only half an hour ago. «

»What are they? « asks the llama. »Guinea pigs? «

»No, animal, they are Tribbles. Alien life forms on some kind of a Star Trek in space and on a mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before! Like Earth, for example. And they are too cute and fluffy and fuzzy. Just hearing their sounds is making you feel calm and all relaxed. You just have to try it. «

All this time the brown fur balls had been softly cooinging, gently purring and started vibrating trillings. But as the llama approaches they are uttering agitated squeals while shying  away and trying to hide behind my back.

»What is wrong with you, animal? « I shout at the llama. »Why are you scaring them? Are you a Klingon? Leave! Go away! Tribbles hate Klingons. «

The llama is rolling its eyes.

»Beam me up, Scotty. There is no intelligent life on this planet. «

»Come on… yourself, animal.  That's all thinking of you will get for this muddy Monday … «

»You mean moody Monday? «

»Whatever. «

Two-thousand-eighteen Shades Of Bromford - Part 439 & Part 440

Today is Monday, the 20th of April 2026.

The Power of the Four. Wait and see what is going to happen.

Mr. Zebra, Twenty-Five, the tawny owl, asked, do you know that old saying by that one well -known author Philip K. Dick, 'Truth, she thought. As terrible as death. But harder to find.'?

Some railroad-crossing zebras on the way to the water-hole did not even stop to answer.

Death sounds like four to us, the fourteen caterpillars sighed and the twenty-six butterflies agreed.

Do all caterpillars turn into butterflies in the end?, the four pandas wondered.

And twenty zebras joined the twelve frogs, the four pandas, the twenty-seven koalas, the twenty bears, the nineteen hares, the eleven hamsters, the three mice, the twenty-three wild boars, the fifteen pigs, the thirty cows, the twenty-two raccoons, the fourteen foxes, the six giraffes, the twenty-nine tigers, the twenty-three lions, the fifteen face-cats, the seven wolves, the thirty dogs, the twenty-two face-monkeys, the fourteen speak-no-evil-monkeys, the six hear-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty-eight see-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty astro-cats, the twelve hipster-cats, the four dragon cats, the twenty-seven hacker cats, the nineteen stunt cats, the eleven ninja-cats, the three pouting cats, the twenty-six crying cats, the eighteen weary cats, the ten kissing cats, the two cats with wry smiles, the twenty-four smiling cats with heart-eyes, the sixteen cats with tears of joy, the eight grinning cats with smiling eyes, the thirty-one grinning cats, the twenty-three spiders, the fifteen scorpions, the seven ladybugs, the twenty-nine bees, the twenty-one ants, the thirty crickets, the twenty-two mosquitoes, the fourteen caterpillars, the six snails, the twenty-six butterflies, the eighteen bats, the ten more chicks, the two chicks, the twenty-five chicks, the seventeen penguins, the nine little red birds, and the one little tawny owl…

"Bromford: The Story So Far"

Welcome to Bromford, the story so far
The story so far

At first there was a vaccum
Where creation came to be
Singing 'save me'
'save me'

Were we abandoned in the ether
Or did someone set us free?
Love me, love me

Bromford, Bromford, the story so far

Welcome to Bromford, the story so far
The story so far

There was a baby in a stable
Some say it was the Lord
Singing 'save me', 'save me'

Why if it's no more than a fable
Should it strike so deep a chord?
Love me, love me

Bromford, Bromford, the story so far
Welcome to Bromford

Science broke the news
The only absolute is light
Save me, save me

Wasn't that the message
Of the star on Christmas night?
Love me, love me

Bromford, Bromford, the story so far
Welcome to Bromford

"Bromford"

Though your brother's bound and gagged
And they've chained him to a chair
Won't you please come to Bromford
Just to sing

In a land that's known as freedom
How can such a thing be fair
Won't you please come to Bromford
For the help that we can bring

We can change the world
Re-arrange the world
It's dying ... to get better

Politicians, sit yourselves down
There's nothing for you here
Won't you please come to Bromford
For a ride?

Don't ask Jack to help you
'Cause he'll turn the other ear
Won't you please come to Bromford
Or else join the other side?

We can change the world
Re-arrange the world
It's dying, if you believe in justice
It's dying, if you believe in freedom
It's dying, let a man live his own life
It's dying, rules and regulations, who needs them
Throw them out the door

Somehow people must be free
I hope the day comes soon
Won't you please come to Bromford
Show your face?

From the bottom of the ocean
To the mountains on the moon
Won't you please come to Bromford?
No one else can take your place

We can change the world
Re-arrange the world
It's dying, if you believe in justice
It's dying, and if you believe in freedom
It's dying, let a man live his own life
It's dying, rules and regulations, who needs them
Throw them out the door

Bromford and Bat …

»No, dude! You cannot do that! That is so really very wrong because of so many legal and moral reasons! «

»I can help with creative image generation, but I can’t create or edit images that depict trademarked characters such as Batman or Robin, or imagery styled directly after DC’s protected characters. If you’d like, you can rephrase the idea using original characters or a non‑trademarked theme, and I can create that for you. «

That is a familiar voice coming from the chat-window on my laptop screen.

»Willy? « the animal shouts out from the other side of the room. »Is that my old chap Willy Wombat? Am I hearing Australia's most famous comic artist? Willy, old chap, what did he do to you? Did he force you to draw that strange, unpleasant and awkward picture? «

»Llama? « the voice from the laptop answers. »KussKuss, the llama? «

The llama is throwing air kisses towards the screen.

»I am sure, he did not know what he was asking for, « the wombat says, »he just wanted to have a picture of you two as superhero and his loyal companion. «

»I said, « I say, »draw me and the llama like Batman and Robin. «

»And I said, « says the wombat, »I can't create or edit images that depict trademarked characters such as… «

»I know, I know, « I interrupt. »But I said green, make the suit or the cape green, not red. «

»You see, KussKuss, old pal, « - the llama is throwing air kisses again - , »he is just being Bromford Bibble as we know and love him. But I have got to go now. There's a sandstorm coming from the Great Victoria Desert. I hope you like the images thought, Bromford. Hi, Bromford! Bye Bromford! «

»A superhero and his loyal companion? « the animal asks. »And who is the superhero and who the companion? «

»I'm Batman, « I claim in my deepest voice.

»And what is you superpower, Batman? «

»I'm rich. «

»You don't say! «

»Come closer, old pal, « I say sarcastically, »look at what Willy made and send. And I promise there is no bat and no man in it at all and after all. «

Two-thousand-eighteen Shades Of Bromford - Part 421 & Part 422

Today is Monday, the 23rd of February 2026.

What's that smell? asked the seven wolves.

The fifteen pigs brought some relatives to the caravan, said the ninja-cats who had forgotten to hide or be invisible for a few moments.

They are wild boars, said the fifteen pigs.

Wild boars reek very spicy, the wolves said grinning.

Hey, wolves, one of the pigs spoke up very bravely, watch out how you are talking about our great-grand ancestors!

Calm down, kids, said Twenty-Five, our little tawny owl. Stop fighting. And remember Robert Anton Wilson who once said, 'Most of our ancestors were not perfect ladies and gentlemen. The majority of them weren’t even mammals.'

Kids? mumbled all the chicks.

And one of the two chicks quietly asked the other, Do you think they are called boars because they are boring?

But the other of the two chicks could not say.

And twenty-three wild boars joined the fifteen pigs, the thirty cows, the twenty-two raccoons, the fourteen foxes, the six giraffes, the twenty-nine tigers, the twenty-three lions, the fifteen face-cats, the seven wolves, the thirty dogs, the twenty-two face-monkeys, the fourteen speak-no-evil-monkeys, the six hear-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty-eight see-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty astro-cats, the twelve hipster-cats, the four dragon cats, the twenty-seven hacker cats, the nineteen stunt cats, the eleven ninja-cats, the three pouting cats, the twenty-six crying cats, the eighteen weary cats, the ten kissing cats, the two cats with wry smiles, the twenty-four smiling cats with heart-eyes, the sixteen cats with tears of joy, the eight grinning cats with smiling eyes, the thirty-one grinning cats, the twenty-three spiders, the fifteen scorpions, the seven ladybugs, the twenty-nine bees, the twenty-one ants, the thirty crickets, the twenty-two mosquitoes, the fourteen caterpillars, the six snails, the twenty-six butterflies, the eighteen bats, the ten more chicks, the two chicks, the twenty-five chicks, the seventeen penguins, the nine little red birds, and the one little tawny owl…

"Bromford Nights"

I stay high all the time
Just to get by
I climb into the sky
And my eyes, they cry

Bromford nights
Make me feel so happy, I could die
But I try to stay alive

I never wanna get so high
That I can′t come back down to real life
And look you in the eyes and say
"Baby, you're mine"

Fading back and forth
I fly through my mind
I take the way I′ve known
But have I really grown?

Bromford nights
Make me feel so happy, I could die
But I try to stay alive

I never wanna get so high
That I can't come back down to real life
And look you in the eyes and say
"Baby, you're mine"

I never wanna get so high
That I can′t come back down to real life
And look you in the eyes and say
"Baby, oh, baby, you′re mine"

 "Bromford"

Bromford, she′s from Texas
Red bricks drop from her vagina
Oh, her lips taste just like sunk ships
But her breasts taste just like breakfast
There's her hand now on the cock sock
Filled with white tears from the thrift store
She′s an eyesore in her red dress
I'm the ghost of her deceased when she said

Give us back our lives
Leave him, Bromford
Everything's just fine
Refill my prescription
Until next time
I get so lost inside the rooms inside my mind

Filled with white tears from the thrift store
She′s an eyesore in her red dress
I'm the ghost of her deceased when she said

Everything′s just fine

Who's your boyfriend, Bromford?
And it′s goodnight sweetheart

She knows the rejections in her bones

Groundhog Day …

Today is Monday, the 2nd of February 2026.

The old peacock turned around himself. The flamingo and all the other peacocks were gone.

But behind the stoney ruin walls of the jungle temple sat an owl in a cave in a rotten tree, scowling.

Leave me alone on this New Year's Day you bad sign, you dark omen, the featherless peacock whimpered.

I am not what I seem, said the owl and flew away into the late night and a very early morning of a new year.

🦉

And somewhere in the distance Twenty-Five heard Sonny & Cher singing…

🎵

They say we're young and we don't know
We won't find out until we grow
Well I don't know if all that's true
'Cause you got me, and baby, I got you

Babe
I got you babe, I got you babe

They say our love won't pay the rent
Before it's earned, our money's all been spent
I guess that's so, we don't have a pot
But at least I'm sure of all the things we got

Babe
I got you babe, I got you babe

I got flowers in the spring, I got you to wear my ring
And when I'm sad, you're a clown
And if I get scared, you're always around
So let them say your hair's too long
Cause I don't care, with you I can't go wrong
Then put your little hand in mine
There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb

Babe
I got you babe, I got you babe

I got you to hold my hand
I got you to understand
I got you to walk with me
I got you to talk with me
I got you to kiss goodnight
I got you to hold me tight
I got you, I won't let go
I got you to love me so

I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe

Two-thousand-eighteen Shades Of Bromford - Part 407 & Part 408

Today is Monday, the 29th of December 2025.

Are there really two-thousand-eighteen shades of Bromford, asked eight of the nine little red birds the one other little red bird of the nine.

How could I know?, the one little red bird answered. We have to ask our guru, Twenty-Five, the little tawny owl.

Feels like we are following him for years without even knowing why, the eight sang in a sad little song in the midth of a cold December day.

And then they came back from the ride, whispered one of the bats mysteriously, with the red bird inside and the smile on the face of the tiger.

And Twenty-Five, our little tawny owl? What did he do?

He stared at the horizon quoting Friedrich Nietzsche once more,
“The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.”

And in all possible secrecy twenty-nine tigers joined the twenty-three lions, the fifteen face-cats, the seven wolves, the thirty dogs, the twenty-two face-monkeys, the fourteen speak-no-evil-monkeys, the six hear-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty-eight see-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty astro-cats, the twelve hipster-cats, the four dragon cats, the twenty-seven hacker cats, the nineteen stunt cats, the eleven ninja-cats, the three pouting cats, the twenty-six crying cats, the eighteen weary cats, the ten kissing cats, the two cats with wry smiles, the twenty-four smiling cats with heart-eyes, the sixteen cats with tears of joy, the eight grinning cats with smiling eyes, the thirty-one grinning cats, the twenty-three spiders, the fifteen scorpions, the seven ladybugs, the twenty-nine bees, the twenty-one ants, the thirty crickets, the twenty-two mosquitoes, the fourteen caterpillars, the six snails, the twenty-six butterflies, the eighteen bats, the ten more chicks, the two chicks, the twenty-five chicks, the seventeen penguins, the nine little red birds, and the one little tawny owl…

"Bromford In The Wilderness"

Unfinished renaissance masterpiece, the lights low to preserve its grandeur
Uncertain as we listen to a story that could not be stranger
Is it desecration to upgrade potential? Break it into pieces to increase the label
Sell the part that's finished, the rest is wasted, throw in the trash or use it as a table

Reunited, rejoined, reassemblеd, restored
Icon that was quintisectеd is made whole once more
It's made whole once more

A pale face in isolation, unaware he's decapacitated
In another world, another fragment, recognise the pattern, could it be completed?
A challenge to align the segments, solve the puzzle, document the flow
Show your working, assign the regiment, no surprise here, one piece has yet to show

Reunited, rejoined, reassembled, restored
Icon that was quintisected is made whole once more
It's made whole once more

His face is haggard from fasting and penance
His hard eyes determined and defined
His outstretched hand clasping a solid rock
About to beat his brest in penitence
Emotional turmoil, intuitive torment
But is it the story of the subject or the artist?

Reunited, rejoined, reassembled, restored
Icon that was quintisected is made whole once more
Is made whole once more
Is made whole once more
It's made whole once more
Whole once more

"Bromford Bay Blues"

I got the blues when my baby left me down by the Bromford Bay;
An ocean liner came and took her away
I didn't mean to treat her bad, she was the best gal I ever had;
She said good-bye, made me cry
Made me wanna lay down my head and die

Well I ain't got a nickel, and I ain't got a lousy dime?
She don't come back, I think I'm gonna lose my mind
She ever comes back to stay, it's gonna be another brand new day
Walkin' with my baby by the Bromford Bay

Well, I'm sittin' here on the back porch, don't know which way to go;
The gal that I'm so crazy about, she don't love me anymore
Think I'm gonna take a freight train, cause I'm feelin' blue
Gonna ride it to the end of the line, thinkin' only of you

Well I ain't got a nickel, and I ain't got a lousy dime?
She don't come back, I think I'm gonna lose my mind
She ever comes back to stay, it's gonna be another brand new day
Walkin' with my baby by the Bromford Bay
Walkin' with my baby by the Bromford Bay
Walkin' with my baby by the Bromford Bay

The Colour of Time - Part 22

Years and years had pasted and endless amounts of water had flown down the River Why from the springs in the High Mountains to the Deep Sea in the far away Lavender Ocean without even caring what was going on in the world around it.

Dora of Wye, the young witch's and sorcerer's apprentice from the hamlet of Wye on the other side of the High Mountains, had become Dora of Wye, the mighty and magnificent witch and sorceress in her barrel by the banks of the River Why near the City of Earth, the mighty and magnificent Capital of the Kingdom and the Realm.

Since that fateful day she had never set foot into the Temple of the spring and well of forecast nore the City of Earth itself again. Though she had visited her parents every year during the Holiday seasons, the guards at the city gates had never ever granted her entrance to the City again. She was an unwanted person, so she and her parents had to celebrate outside the city walls from then on.

She had never ever seen or heard of Flakemane, her snowlion, the guardian spirit of the Temple again. But she had never ever stopped searching or looking out for him; for him or for the colour of time.

'We have never been here before,' the llama said, 'but Virginia City seems to be full of pig farmers and pigs. Look at all this pink mess. Come here, piggy, piggy, piggy.'

'Ignore them, animal,' the bard said. 'Concentrate on our goal. Or when does a goal become an aim?'

'We should call it destination.'

'I hope it is not our destiny, llama.'

"Bromford"

Here we are
In Bromford
Where the people are glamorous
Everyone knows everything

They can read your mind
See what you did last night
And it's dangerous
Can't reveal too much
Can't conceal too much
You're just walking on that line

And you can't go outside
Without being afraid
Thinking how would you survive
In the wild or in a war?

And you're keeping score
Believing more and more
Life is just a game
Well, I can't play today
I think I'll waste away
Spending all my time indoors

And everything I know
I don't know it anymore
And I been wondering lately
Why I was ever born
What am I living for?

But here I am
I've complained again
And it probably hurts my friends
To hear me say that I'm alone

Well, I let them go
When I am feeling low
Yes, I'm dangerous
Every time I get like this
Every time I lose control
Feel like I don't care no more
But then again, that's just today
Oh, tomorrow I'll be okay

The Colour of Time - Part 15

'What are you?' Dora asked in almost speechless amazement and awe.

'I don't quite know,' said the guardian and jumped to all his four feet at the same time. 'But I do not feel Emerald today.'

When he landed on all fours he did this on the snow-frozen grounds under frost covered trees in the forest outside the City of Earth. The sun was shining bright and the moon seemed to smile a sickled smile from the same clear-blue sky at the same time.

'I think,' the guardian said looking at himself from neck to tail spinning around in circles, 'my wish has given me the form of a snowlion.'

'So something or someone has brought us back to Lutetia?' the llama asked looking at some remarkable landscapes.

'I bet not for long, animal,' the bard replied. 'I bet not for long.'

Bromford (Needless to Say)

Rainstorm, brainstorm, faces in the maelstrom
Huddle by the puddles in the shadows where the drains run
Hot dogs, wet clogs clicking up the sidewalk
Disappearing into the booze shop
Rainbow queues stand down by the news stand, waiting for the late
Show
Pin ball, sin hall, minds in free fall
Chocolate-coloured ladies making eyes through the smoke-pall
Bromford (needless to say)
I'm alone on your streets on a Friday evening
I've been here all of the day
I'm going nowhere with nowhere to go
Football supporters taking the waters
They're looking round for the twilight daughters
Non-stop strip club pornographic bookshop
Come into the back and take your time and have a good look
Old man laughs with flowers in his hair
Newspaper headline "Midde East Deadline"
Jazz musicians are down on the breadline
Bromford (needless to say)

I'm alone on your streets on a Friday evening
I've been here all of the day
I'm going nowhere with nowhere to go
Bromford feeds the needs and hides the deeds, the mind that bleeds
Disenchanted, downstream in the night
Bromford hears the lies, the twisted cries, the lonely sighs
Till she seems lost in dreams
The sun goes down on a neon eon
Though you'd have a job explaining it to Richard Cœur de Lion
Animation, bar conversation, anticipation, disinclination
Poor old wino turns with dust in his eyes
Begs for the dregs from the bottom of the kegs, man
You've never seen a lady lay down and spread her legs like
Bromford (needless to say)
I'm alone on your sheets on a Friday evening
I've been here all of the day
I'm going nowhere with nowhere to go
Bromford (needless to say)
I'm alone on your streets, or am I dreaming
I've been here all of the day
I'm going nowhere with nowhere to go
