Long Way To Earth... Part 19

 

 

'Look', said Bromford, the bard, 'I used to be a good bard and a good storyteller. But now I might lose my job and position at the High Castle of Bromford because I am afraid I might have lost my talents and my inspirations for songs and stories.'

'Your mojo', the witch said nodding with her full understanding. 'Some of them might say you are losing your mojo.'

'We have come all the way from the High Castle of Bromford just to ask you for your help, advice and guidance.'

Dora hesitated for a second, looked from the animal to Bromford and back again.

'And you have chosen this walking and talking llama as your companion?'

Bromford, the bard, just nodded.

'I see', said Dora of Wye, hoisting her slipping leather bag a little. 'Well, let's try this.'

And in a slightly changed and more solemn voice she spoke the words,

'Post quatriduum duo Camelidae eris!

And now, Bromford, the bard, return to where your heart leads you. And after only four days you will see your inner drive, your inspiration, your mojo return to you.'

Then she grabbed her leather bag tight and disappeared in a group of people heading towards the nearest bridge to the City of Earth.

'Can you tell me what just happened?' asked KussKuss, the llama. 'It all happened so quickly.'

'I don't know', answered Bromford, the bard. 'Dora of Wye, the mighty and magnificent witch and sorceress seems to have given us her blessings. But she might as well have cursed us, too. I cannot tell.'

But that night for the first time after a long, long time Bromford sang a song to Dora while the winter wind played his staff flute.
