Long Way To Earth... Part 10


The astronomer's lair was located in the center tower of the Castle. It was the highest tower and the High Castle's closest spot to the sun at day and closest to the stars and the moon at night.

The door swung open as Bromford, the bard, knocked with his staff and he found a chamber packed with all kinds of books and instruments and utensils of unknown purpose and origin, a chamber even smaller than the shed next to the kitchen door that the bard and the llama lived in. A kettle was boiling and steaming over a slightly green fire and all kinds of fluids in little corked bottles and metal tools were reflecting the blue moonlight from outside the window that almost took one wall of the room opposite the door.
 
And there was no sign of Colin from the Firth, the astronomer and magician.
