In the evening Nanuk cannot fall asleep. Everything seems strange and unfamiliar. This is not his room. This is not his bed. And although he already spent many times with his younger cousins in their bedroom at his aunt's and uncle's cabin this time it feels different.
And the grownups are in a strange mood. They seem worried and full of sorrow. But they won't tell the children what is going on.
Right now Nanuk can hear aunt Nukka and uncle Oogrooq talk quietly in the kitchen.
His little cousins are snorting in their sleeps.
So Nanuk sneaks out of bed to eavesdrop on the grownups conversation to find out what is going on.
