The Colour of Time - Part 22

 

Years and years had pasted and endless amounts of water had flown down the River Why from the springs in the High Mountains to the Deep Sea in the far away Lavender Ocean without even caring what was going on in the world around it.

Dora of Wye, the young witch's and sorcerer's apprentice from the hamlet of Wye on the other side of the High Mountains, had become Dora of Wye, the mighty and magnificent witch and sorceress in her barrel by the banks of the River Why near the City of Earth, the mighty and magnificent Capital of the Kingdom and the Realm.

Since that fateful day she had never set foot into the Temple of the spring and well of forecast nore the City of Earth itself again. Though she had visited her parents every year during the Holiday seasons, the guards at the city gates had never ever granted her entrance to the City again. She was an unwanted person, so she and her parents had to celebrate outside the city walls from then on.

She had never ever seen or heard of Flakemane, her snowlion, the guardian spirit of the Temple again. But she had never ever stopped searching or looking out for him; for him or for the colour of time.

'We have never been here before,' the llama said, 'but Virginia City seems to be full of pig farmers and pigs. Look at all this pink mess. Come here, piggy, piggy, piggy.'

'Ignore them, animal,' the bard said. 'Concentrate on our goal. Or when does a goal become an aim?'

'We should call it destination.'

'I hope it is not our destiny, llama.'

Here we are
In Bromford
Where the people are glamorous
Everyone knows everything

They can read your mind
See what you did last night
And it's dangerous
Can't reveal too much
Can't conceal too much
You're just walking on that line

And you can't go outside
Without being afraid
Thinking how would you survive
In the wild or in a war?

And you're keeping score
Believing more and more
Life is just a game
Well, I can't play today
I think I'll waste away
Spending all my time indoors

And everything I know
I don't know it anymore
And I been wondering lately
Why I was ever born
What am I living for?

But here I am
I've complained again
And it probably hurts my friends
To hear me say that I'm alone

Well, I let them go
When I am feeling low
Yes, I'm dangerous
Every time I get like this
Every time I lose control
Feel like I don't care no more
But then again, that's just today
Oh, tomorrow I'll be okay
