Two-thousand-eighteen Shades Of Bromford - Part 413 & Part 414

Today is Thursday, the 22nd of January 2026.

🎶 For he's a jelly food yellow,
For he's a jelly food yellow,
For he's a jelly food yellow,
Which nobody can reply
Which nobody can reply, which nobody can reply… 🎶

Twenty-Five, the little tawny owl, woke up after a day-long flight from his travelling companions singing.

»What are all of you doing again?« he shouted.

One of the chicks finished the song late and in its own special way,

🎶 With custard by his side, with custard by his side… 🎶

»It's your birthday, oh Twenty-Five, our guru,« one of the tigers grinned, »and we are celebrating you with this cute little song.

»Today is my birthday?« the tawny owl wondered. »That's too bad. I wanted to predict the End of the World for today.«

»Like for every Thursday in the past and in the future?« one of the scorpions wanted to know.

»I cannot do it,« the owl mumbled. »Nobody wants the End of the World to be connected or forever been associated with their birthday.«

»You are bad news, Twenty-Five, the grey,« the eight grinning cats smirked. »Láthspell I call him - ill news is an ill guest.«

»Thank goodness, I am not a fortuneteller and no travelling wizzard after all, the tawny owl exclaimed in full relief. »And you should learn and work on the lyrics of that celebration song of yours. All of you!«

And he thought about what Aristotle used to say, We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

And twenty-two raccoons joined the fourteen foxes, the six giraffes, the twenty-nine tigers, the twenty-three lions, the fifteen face-cats, the seven wolves, the thirty dogs, the twenty-two face-monkeys, the fourteen speak-no-evil-monkeys, the six hear-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty-eight see-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty astro-cats, the twelve hipster-cats, the four dragon cats, the twenty-seven hacker cats, the nineteen stunt cats, the eleven ninja-cats, the three pouting cats, the twenty-six crying cats, the eighteen weary cats, the ten kissing cats, the two cats with wry smiles, the twenty-four smiling cats with heart-eyes, the sixteen cats with tears of joy, the eight grinning cats with smiling eyes, the thirty-one grinning cats, the twenty-three spiders, the fifteen scorpions, the seven ladybugs, the twenty-nine bees, the twenty-one ants, the thirty crickets, the twenty-two mosquitoes, the fourteen caterpillars, the six snails, the twenty-six butterflies, the eighteen bats, the ten more chicks, the two chicks, the twenty-five chicks, the seventeen penguins, the nine little red birds, and the one little tawny owl…

"Bromford"

Oh, maybe I was wrong but baby, I was only young
I was tryin' to burn a hole in you with someone else's sun
But now I've got to know myself, know I'm the one that needed help
I can't say, "I'm sorry," if I'm always on the run

Oh, my love
Hold me fast

"Hey Bromford"

No one's picking up the phone
Guess it's me and me
And this little masochist
She's ready to confess
All the things that I never thought
That she could feel

Hey Bromford
Nothing's been the same
So are you gay?
Are you blue?
Thought we both could use a friend
To run to
And I thought I wouldn't have to be with you
Something new

Sometimes I breathe you in
And I know that you know
And sometimes you take a swim
Found your writing on my wall
You left my heart soaking wet
Boy your boots can leave a mess

Hey Bromford
Nothing's been the same
So are you gay?
Are you blue?
Thought we both could use a friend
To run to
And I thought you wouldn't have to keep
With me
Hiding

Thought I knew myself so well
All the dolls I had
Took my leather off the shelf
Your apocalypse was fab
For a girl who couldn't choose between
The shower or the bath

And I thought I wouldn't have to be
With you
A magazine

No one's picking up the phone
Guess it's clear he's gone
And this little masochist
Is lifting up her dress
Guess I thought I could never feel
The things I feel

Hey Bromford
Nothing's been the same
So are you gay?
Are you blue?
Thought we both could use a friend
To run to

Hey Bromford
Nothing's been the same
So are you safe?
Now we're through?
Thought we both could use a friend
To run to
Hey Bromford
