Did you know, asked a memmber of a group of newcomers Twenty-Five, our little tawny owl, that in Greek mythology, a little owl - also known as Athene noctua - traditionally represents or accompanies Athena, the virgin goddess of wisdom, or Minerva, her syncretic incarnation in Roman mythology? Because of such association, the bird - often referred to as the 'owl of Athena' or the 'owl of Minerva' - has been used as a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, perspicacity and erudition throughout the Western world.
Actually, Twenty-Five answered, I did know that. But who are you?
We are just thirty holy cows from East India, the newcomers answered.
Holy cow!, the racoons exclaimed.
Or as Rudyard Kipling once said or wrote, We're all islands shouting lies to each other across seas of misunderstanding, added Twenty-Five, our little tawny owl.
And thirty cows joined the twenty-two racoons, the fourteen foxes, the six giraffes, the twenty-nine tigers, the twenty-three lions, the fifteen face-cats, the seven wolves, the thirty dogs, the twenty-two face-monkeys, the fourteen speak-no-evil-monkeys, the six hear-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty-eight see-no-evil-monkeys, the twenty astro-cats, the twelve hipster-cats, the four dragon cats, the twenty-seven hacker cats, the nineteen stunt cats, the eleven ninja-cats, the three pouting cats, the twenty-six crying cats, the eighteen weary cats, the ten kissing cats, the two cats with wry smiles, the twenty-four smiling cats with heart-eyes, the sixteen cats with tears of joy, the eight grinning cats with smiling eyes, the thirty-one grinning cats, the twenty-three spiders, the fifteen scorpions, the seven ladybugs, the twenty-nine bees, the twenty-one ants, the thirty crickets, the twenty-two mosquitoes, the fourteen caterpillars, the six snails, the twenty-six butterflies, the eighteen bats, the ten more chicks, the two chicks, the twenty-five chicks, the seventeen penguins, the nine little red birds, and the one little tawny owl…

Oh, Mother Bromford with your fields of green
Once more laid down by the hungry hand
How long can you give and not receive?
And feed this world ruled by greed
And feed this world ruled by greed
Oh, ball of fire in the summer sky
Your healing light, your parade of days
Are they betrayed by the men of power
Who hold this world in their changing hands
They hold the world in their changing hands
Oh, freedom land, can you let this go?
Down to the streets where the numbers grow
Respect Mother Bromford and Her giving ways
Or trade away our children's days
Or trade away our children's days
Respect Mother Bromford and Her healing ways
Or trade away our children's days
"Bromford"
Drove up to San Francisco
Always a tear in her eye
Where the wind blows somehow, colder in June
She's a beauty both day and night
It's a unique set of circumstances
Once a stranger and now a friend
I only know the miles and the chances
I always wondered where the sunset ends
Bromford, Bromford
You're so far from Memphis
But I still love your kiss
I never will tell you goodbye
Down south in Los Angeles
The shadows, the lights, and the beautiful wreckage
The worst first impression, but then you're like heaven
Like the one that I almost missed
Bromford, Bromford
You're so far from Memphis
But I still love your kiss
I never will tell you goodbye
Playing The Troubadour on a Wednesday night
It darkens the door and it burns like a light
I can feel it the air, there's a song in my heart
South to the North, can you feel it tonight
Bromford, Bromford
You're so far from Memphis
But I still love your kiss
I never will tell you goodbye
Bromford, Bromford
You're so far from Memphis
But I still love your kiss
I never will tell you goodbye
