Bromford and Owl …

When I drove home from work today I had to wear my sunglasses because I got blinded by the sun's reflections on the last remaining snowfields of this winter. But is it the last remaining snow? Winter is not over yet. And only seconds later dark clouds had covered the sky and sanken the world into darkness.

»What are you writing, dude? « the llama is not amused, once again. »You drove home from work? Dude, it is 11:00 am. What kind of work did you just came home from? You are not working, dude. You still earn your money from a Christmas song your composter father wrote decades ago. «

»That song pays our penthouse apartment here in the skyscraper building on 666 Whitaker Lane in Bromford, the friendly town by the bay and seaside. I have to admit that, animal. But my passionate occupation is the job of a Nightmanager in a Diner called 'Double R' somewhere out there on Route 72. «

»Bollocks, « is all the llama can reply. » In the meantime your next candidates for being your next best animal companion have arrived. Not much of the talkers. And - to be honest - they are giving me the creeps. «

Two very strictly looking owls are sitting on the backrest of the sofa in the livingroom grimly and frowning staring at us.

I approach them very carefully, head down and bowing very deeply, addressing the smaller one whispering,

»Twenty-Five, is that you? «

The owls are only hooting faintly.

They are not what they seem, I think to myself.
