Bromford's Arc - Part 9 - 12:07 a.m.

Apartment 18 - Eleventh Floor - right hand side … and we walk all night.

'Good evening', the male part of the next couple says. 'We are Rachel and Rocky Racoon.'

'It is not evening, Rocky', Rachel says. 'It is the middle of the night.'

'Is that the famous Bromford Bibble from the penthouse on the rooftop of our nice, old apartment building on 666 Whitaker Lane in Bromford, the friendly town by the bay and seaside?'

'Yes, indeed', the llama says. 'But, shhhhhh… Looks like he is dreaming.'

Indeed I am dreaming. I am dreaming about past times in the city when restaurants and cafés were open and I made Speedy's Sandwich Bar & Café to a Speedy's Diner in my imagination.

I am sitting
In the morning
At the diner
On the corner

I am waiting
At the counter
For the man
To pour the coffee

And he fills it
Only halfway
And before
I even argue

He is looking
Out the window
At somebody
Coming in

And way down we go …

"Bromford"

Bromford England England
Across the Atlantic Sea
And he's a genius genius
He believes in God
And he believes that God
Believes in Claude
That's he that's he

Claude Hooper Bukowski
Finds that it's groovy
To hide in a movie
Pretends he's Fellini
And Antonioni
And also his countryman Roman Polanski
All rolled into one
One Claude Hooper Bukowski

Now that I've dropped out
Why is life dreary dreary
Answer my weary query
Timothy Leary dearie

Oh Bromford England England
Across the Atlantic Sea
And I'm a genius genius
I believe in God
And I believe that God
Believes in Claude

That's me (that's he)
That's me (that's he)
That's me (that's he)
That's me ...

Manchester, England - by the sea is somewhere else, I think.

And nobody asked for the dream song. :P
      It's Speedy's Diner, not Tom's ... (Sorry, Suzanne Vega) }]
